Change is constant – watch it in effect with the new Discount Plan from Uninor.

Just when mobile users have gotten used to rock bottom call rates, Uninor surprises you with a novel way to get further discounts on your monthly bills. Your call rates are no longer defined by your rate plan; they are defined by your location.

If your existing plan discounts just aren’t good enough for you any more, you might want to consider Uninor’s latest plan innovation – the Discount Plan. This plan is also referred to as the ‘DP’ or the ‘Badalta Plan’. The plan is currently available in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The concept of the Discount Plan is simple. The way it works is even simpler. The discount plan offers a 5% to 60% discount on your outgoing call rates. The percentage of discount available depends on your location within the State. The discount rate for one location is not the same as the discount rate for the second. Therefore your plan changes 24 x 7. With the discounts you can save up to 60% on your monthly mobile expenses.

The plan might sound complicated. It is not. The available discount in the area is always shown on your mobile display. When you make a call the discount is applied and the remaining currency balance is shown on the display as well. The plan is easy to migrate to and it can be used by both new and existing customers.

How to make the most of mobile offers?

Given the large number of players in the cellular market, there is stiff competition amongst them. When this happens the customer always wins. This happens purely because; each service provider is doing its best to offer its customers more than the competition. This has given rise to some very interesting mobile offers.

The phone plus connection offer

While contract phones are not a very common concept in India, you will find that a lot of service providers actually give you a free connection if you buy a phone from them. This kind of mobile offer is ideal for someone who has neither phone nor a connection. While you still have to provide personal details and fill out an application form for your connection on an offer like this, you do not have to bear the additional burden of a security deposit etc. Your connection comes absolutely free of charge.

Limited time schemes

Mobiles offers also come in the form of value added services and add on schemes. Most service providers launch these from time to time and when they do they are generally publicised quite a bit. Keep your ears and eyes open for these. These schemes are generally add on services to your already existing plans and can be in the form of unlimited messages for a fixed amount every month, or greatly reduced rates for calls between certain times of the day etc. If you identify with any of the offers you can actually save a lot of money.

Check for plan revisions

Most of us never bother to check on the possibility of plan revisions etc. once we have decided on a calling plan. This is not a very wise thing to do. Every mobile service provider also revises calling plans along with launching a new mobile offer every now and then. Check back and see if there are better plans that have been introduced that you can benefit from. This might initially seem like an inconvenience but you could benefit from it greatly.
